Background

Remote and rural communities rely on data centers hundreds of miles away, with service easily disrupted by adverse weather conditions, fiber damage, and environmental factors. Without data centers that are more local, many communities sit on the other side of a rapidly accelerating digital divide. Greensparc is changing this by delivering critical infrastructure, cloud services, and applications to unserved and underserved markets. Greensparc installed its most recent data center at Humpback Creek Hydro Facility in Cordova, Alaska for Cordova Electric Cooperative. Alaska’s newest data infrastructure is 100% renewable, powered by the local hydro plant, and is capable of supporting the needs of major cloud service providers that need to extend services and applications to the world’s hardest to reach populations and communities.

To launch the company, Greensparc leveraged Karbo Com PowerStart – a new service offering designed to give pre-Series A technology companies access to topflight public relations, content and digital marketing services at an affordable price. The program, available in a tiered pricing structure, provides startups with the agility to choose the marketing areas that will best help them drive visibility, sales opportunities and revenue growth, secure partnerships, attract talent, acquire funding and more.
